We believe that the new Rothschild Rare Collection 2013 cuvées are the finest interpretation of a typical Champagne vintage viewed through the lens of the Rare Collection style.
These Grands Vins from the last vintage to be harvested late in October are reminiscent of those cold, foggy autumnal harvests that have been so characteristic of the Champagne region for hundreds of years but which are becoming much less common today.
Rothschild Rare Collection 2013 forges a link between the past, present and future. With all the power of its contemporary character and the cellar-ageing capacity that will see it through the years, it embodies the interpretation of the late vintages of the past.
The 2013 vintage is exemplified by a great Blanc de Blancs with captivating, clear-cut aromas and a Rosé version with dazzling fruit and infinite length.

Rare Collection, an exceptional range produced in limited quantities
In keeping with the family’s desire to create wines of supreme elegance showcasing the great Chardonnays, the Rothschild Rare Collection Blanc de Blancs is made exclusively from Chardonnays originating from the 4 Grands Crus in the Côte des Blanc: Avize, Cramant, Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
Like a “Blanc de Blancs Rosé”, the Rothschild Rare Collection Rosé blends the 4 Chardonnay Grands Crus with a touch of red wine that we craft ourselves in a dedicated vat room.
Here, our rigorous craft approach to winemaking is illustrated by our decision to cellar-age the champagnes for at least 8 years and then allow them to rest for a further year after disgorgement before their release.
